The First Lady of Burundi Receives Awards in New York

In New York, the First Lady of the Republic of Burundi, Her Excellency Denise Bucumi Nkurunziza has been awarded as a woman who has positively influenced the Burundian society and who is an actor of change throughout her Foundation called “Buntu”. In the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and that of Public Health and the fight against AIDS, three awards were granted to the First Lady of the country by a synergy of four organizations namely “Global Visionary Publishing”, “Ichange Nations” , “Purses Pumps and Power Network”, and “Organization for Poverty Alleviator and Development (OPAD)”.

The first award named “Voice of Change”, was bestowed by the Organization named “Ichange Nations”, an organization founded by the American Ambassador Dr. Clyde Rivers, in recognition of her contribution to the change of mentalities by organizing awareness-raising campaigns for women and young people, as well as advocacy for the deserted, among others: widows and orphans.

The second prize titled “The Power of Collaboration Lifetime Achievement Award” was awarded by the Canadian organization, Global Visionary Publishing, as an icon of the positive change of society.
The Third Prize “2019 Global Woman of Greatness Award” was presented by a network of business women “Purses Pumps and Power Network” operating in North Carolina.

In her words of thanks, HE Denise Nkurunziza greatly appreciated this attitude of encouraging people and especially women. For her, these awards give an eloquent sign that Burundi is peaceful because you it is not possible to work when there is no peace. She also thanked the Lord for giving her that favour. “I give glory to the Lord for his kindness and mercy, who enables me to perform all good things according to his plan”, hammered Her Excellency the First Lady.

She finally said that these prizes are an encouragement that will allow her to continue to serve the Burundian population as she has been doing for a long time. “I became like a gas-filled car”, said Her Excellency Denise Bucumi Nkurunziza.
